We share this world with other kinds of intelligences so strange they might as well have evolved on another planet. These 'extraterrestrials' lurk just off-shore where, powered by jet-propulsion, they cruise on deadly missions. Their brains are advanced and their communication systems superb. These Concordes of the seas are cephalopods - cuttlefish, squid and octopus - who use their soft bodies to transmit pulsing colour patterns of staggering beauty. Do these unusual ocean creatures 'talk' to one another? Are they perhaps trying to contact us? This spectacular film enables us to judge for ourselves.
